The quarantine due to Coronavirus, should we see is as a burden ? An opportunity ?

Updated: Aug 22, 2021

We are living in a time where many nations are locked down. Measures, such as the quarantine, are taken to protect us from the Coronavirus, Covid-19. And, the quarantine can be lived as a burden, a chore that needs to be done for ourselves and the people around us.

All the social, cultural events and activities got cancelled, one after the other, only remote and other jobs remain. Having to go through such a situation is not easy, especially when you are used to live a pretty busy life including work, cultural and social life, family...

But, not as some people think, life can still go on. People may complain on how hard this is to stay at home but quarantine can be a moment set for us to take time for ourselves, more than we usually do. It can turn out to be an opportunity rather than a burden beared for the community. Besides work, is there a project that you have been putting off because you did not have enough time ? Quarantine is the perfect occasion ! Is there an interest in a particular field, a passion that you want to explore and develop ? And which can be done online, at home ? Quarantine is definitely the perfect occasion.

Some would tell me that with kids, it is easier said than done. I don't have kids, I can hardly talk on that matter. I am thinking though that kids can have activities on their own, things to work on while you are doing YOUR thing. A French psychiatrist, Dr. Ferreri, suggests making a daily schedule of activities and exercising every day to maintain a mental sanity.

Thanks to the quarantine, I could work on creating a LinkedIn account for my business Planet Aide, add a blog section to my website and now, I am learning an eastern language that I love so much. During this historical crisis, we need to stay happy and positive, as difficult as it may seem... Remember, life is "10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it".

And Jencarlos Canela would not have it any other way !

Going towards a productive quarantine, not a suffered one...
